Game rules:

With the exceptions mentioned in the  game rules below, the tournament will follow the official rules and regulations of the FIBA and the Finnish Basketball Association for the season 2009-2010.

1.  The playing time:

All games consist of four halves as follows:

- 4 x 7 minutes effective playing time from C- to FUN series.

- 4 x 7 minutes straight playing time in Mini series. The last two (2) minutes of last period will be effective playing time.

- The half time lasts two (2) minutes and all other breaks between periods are one (1) minutes.

(In the effective playing time all breaks are excluded, including time outs.  Player substitutions are allowed whenever there is a break during the game.)

2. The team has a right to one (1) time out before a half time and two (2) time outs after a half time. The unused time outs can’t be postponed to the next period.

3.  In case of a tie, there will be a sudden-death overtime. The first point will win. The overtime starts with a jump ball.

4. Team fouls: The team fouls are counted in every period, and they are full after the fourth (4th) foul in each period. The fifth (5th) team foul leads to two free throws.

5.  The official rules and regulations of the Finnish Basketball Association are used to determine the size of the game balls. Women' s Fun-league, age groups A and B in girls and age groups C in both girls and in boys use the ball size 6. Age group Mini will use the ball size 5. Men's Fun-league and age groups A and B in boys use the ball size 7.

6. The three- point shot is valid in C-series and older groups.

7. In groups C and Mini zone-defence is not allowed.

8. If a team leads the game by 30 points or more, it is recommended that it will no longer play full-court press.

9. If a problem occurs, the team leader should contact the supervisor of the gym. Any possible protests must be handed in to the supervisor of the gym 15 minutes after the end of the game. The protests need to be made in writing, and the team needs to pay a fee of 100 euros at the same time when handing in the protest. The fee will be returned if the protest is accepted. A jury will handle all protests. The jury will only handle protests that can lead to a score 20-0. There will be no rematches. The decision of the jury is final.

10. If a player or a coach is ejected, the jury must be informed. The ejected player/coach is not allowed to participate to the games until the jury has handled his case.

11. If a team is late for the game more than 10 minutes of the game it will lose the game by 20-0.

12. If a team forfeits a game, the score will be 20-0. The jury will decide whether the forfeiting team has a right to continue playing in the tournament.

13. The classification rule:

The teams shall be classified according to their win-loss record, namely two (2) points for each game won and zero (0) points for each game lost. If there are two or more teams in the classification with equal points, their placing will be determined by 1. the win-loss record of the games between the teams involved 2. score difference of the games between the teams involved 3. score difference of all the games played in the group by each team 4. points scored 5. draw. It is our intention to solve the final positioning of each team. However, if there are a lot of teams in the age group, the final position of a team might be solved by a division of four. Thus the placement of a team may be e.g. 9-10.

14. There will be no technical fouls because of the team uniforms. If the team doesn’t have unified uniforms, they should wear shirts that are of the same colour and have numbers. The players are asked to use the same number in their jerseys throughout the entire tournament in order to help the MVP–selections.
